The theme for this Religious Education Year of 2011-2012 will be:

Our whole life from beginning to end is meant to be just that; our Journey back to our Heavenly home where we will spend eternity with Jesus.  There is no greater gift we can give ourselves, nor bring our children to.  We will be using the Beatitudes to help our children better understand how Jesus wishes for them to journey with Him.

It is important for each family to consider becoming involved in our Religious Education Program.  The faith formation of children is primarily the responsibility of their parents.  The Gospel tells us that we, as a church, are a community of believers.  Based on this principle, St. Luke's offers a Religious Education Program to assist and support parents in the commitment made at Baptism to fulfill their responsibility in bringing their children up in the faith.  St. Luke's offers Religious Education classes to children of all registered parishioners, from Kindergarten through Grade 9.   Our goal is to develop in each child a sense of belonging to a Faith Community.  Our faith is identified by its belief in Jesus Christ, as well as the writings and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.  The goal of all catechesis is faith - faith that is alive and mature, affecting our every day actions and rooted in the Church's tradition.

Sincerely in the Living God,

Bridget Sarkowicz, DRE
